Remembrance Sunday 2009

I’ve lived in Wolverton since 1971 and I’m ashamed to say that in all that time I’d never been to a Remembrance Sunday Service at the War Memorial in the Square.  I took a video camera with me last year to record the event and I must say that the first thing that surprised me was just how many people were there particpating – people widely ranging in background and ethnic origin.  Perhaps the large numbers were there because of the presence of British troops in Afghanistan, perhaps there are that number there every year – I have no yardstick to judge.  What I can say is that I found the whole experience very moving and thought-provoking.
