Secret Garden concerts 3 – The Living Archive Band

The third Musical Summer Sunday concert in the Secret Garden in 2010 was performed by the Living Archive Band.  Their ‘New Communities’ show was funded by the Hereitage Lottery Fund and featured songs and readings relating to 3 projects that the Living Archive has done over the years about the development of new communities in the area – the establishment and growth of Wolverton as a railway town in the 19th century, the post Second World War growth of Bletchley and the development and growth of the new city of Milton Keynes.

The song featured in this extract is unfortunately not about Wolverton!  ‘What do they think we are?’ reflects the newly- arrived Londoners’ reactions to the comments of local Bletchley residents at their presence in the town in the 1950s.
